Dali set to dazzle St Petes

A new $35-million museum is set to open along the waterways of downtown St. Petersburg next January.

A spectacular structure, The Dali Museum will double the size of the former museum and will showcase Salvador Dali’s priceless collection which, at 2,140 treasures, is the largest outside of Spain to be displayed at any one time.

Rated by the Michelin Guide as the number one museum in the American South region, the new Salvador Dali Museum will now have even more room to feature artwork from other artists through temporary exhibitions.

The new Dalí Museum is designed by internationally acclaimed architect Yann Weymouth who worked alongside architect I.M. Pei on the renovation of the Louvre in Paris. At 66,450 square feet, it will provide space for school groups, visitor orientation and classrooms, temporary exhibitions to complement the Dali collection and an indoor/outdoor café.
