Denver becomes key international gateway
Denver International Airport recorded its second-busiest year ever in 2009, despite the sagging economy and capacity reductions by the airlines.
The 50,167,485 passengers was just 2.1 per cent below the record 51,245,334 who used DIA in 2008 and illustrated that the Colorado city has now become a major international gateway for those heading to the states of the American west and southwest.
