Indianapolis ready for the UK fast lane

Indianapolis Convention and Visitors Association (ICVA) has appointed First Public Relations (FPR) to handle its public relations and marketing efforts in the UK.
It is the destination’s first concerted foray into the British market.
Known as the ‘motor sports capital of the world, Indianapolis is home to iconic sporting events such as the Indy 500, which is the world’s largest single-day sporting event and the Red Bull Indianapolis Moto GP, one of the world’s premier motorcycle race series. In 2012 Indianapolis will host the NFL’s Super Bowl.

Cultural attractions include new cultural trails and one of the USA’s largest contemporary sculpture parks, 100 Acres: The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art and Nature Park.

Last year saw the opening of North America’s newest international airport, Indianapolis International Airport. FPR will highlight the city-break appeal of the destination, increase awareness of its cultural attractions and broaden appeal beyond petrol-heads.

Travel trade marketing will be a key component of the programme to develop new product offerings with leading travel companies.
