Marriott opens Texas-sized hotel in San Antonio

The world’s largest JW Marriott has opened its doors in San Antonio, Texas, offering over 1,000 rooms in a hacienda-style getaway brimming with luxurious amenities.

Situated on the cusp of the Texas hill country, the 1,200-room JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa offers patrons views of live oaks and rolling scenery.

A 26,000-sq ft spa offers a Texas-sized menu of treatments along with fitness classes and a lagoon-like, private pool.

The resort has two Tournament Players Club golf courses: The AT&T Canyons Course, designed by Pete Dye and PGA Tour player consultant Bruce Lietzke, and the AT&T Oaks Course, whose designers were Greg Norman and PGA tour player consultant Sergio Garcia.

This May (May 13-16, 2010), the JW will be the new home of the PGA TOUR’s Valero Texas Open.
