TrekAmerica has new US mini-adventures
TrekAmerica has extended its road trip formula to create three new ‘Mini –Adventures’, departing Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York, for 2010.
The three- and four-day trips, the first short breaks to be introduced by TrekAmerica with its other tours ranging from seven to 64 days in length, take in iconic tourist attractions and famous landscapes such as Niagara Falls, the Grand Canyon and Hollywood.
On the four-day Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon trip travellers will experience horse riding western style during their stay at a working cowboy camp. Monument Valley is the location of a guided Jeep tour and an overnight experience with the Navajo, staying in a traditional mud-hut Hogan. Watching the sunset over the Grand Canyon is just one of the highlights of the trip and there’s the opportunity to take a scenic helicopter flight for a bird’s eye view of the Canyon. The drive back to Las Vegas is via Route 66 and Hoover Dam. The first departure from Las Vegas is May 3 2010 and costs from £399 pp, including accommodation, transport, some meals, Navajo Jeep tour and overnight experience in Monument Valley, a visit to Cameron Trading Post, overnight ranch stay and BBQ, Grand Canyon National Park fees and the services of a TrekAmerica tour leader.
The four-day New York City to Niagara Falls trip includes a scenic boat cruise on the Maid of the Mist, camping in the Finger Lakes, a visit to Syracuse and some shopping time at the Woodbury Common Premium outlet mall. The first departure from NYC is May 30th and costs from £249 pp.
The four-day Los Angeles to the Grand Canyon mini-adventure includes a Hollywood highlights tour with Rodeo Drive, Mann’s Chinese Theatre, the Hollywood sign, the Mojave Desert, Lake Havasu (home to the original London Bridge) and a hike along the Grand Canyon’s South Rim Trail. Holidaymakers explore Las Vegas on a private limousine tour before lunching in true American style at Peggy Sue’s Diner. The trip continues back across the Mojave Desert to Los Angeles. The first departure from Los Angeles is May 11 2010, and costs from £339 pp.
