Texas thinks family matters

Texas Tourism, and several of its regional partners, are upping their efforts to urge familes to choose Texas for their holiday destination.

The recently relaunched Texas Tourism website contains a variety of options for family holidays. The section  Parents and Teachers has a host of suggestions for family-friendly activities and events available year-round and throughout the state.

TripAdvisor recently named San Antonio as one of the top 10 US family destinations for 2010.

This city, this summer launched Heart & Soul, a marketing campaign that highlights San Antonio as a fun, value-driven destination for families.

Its microsite offers money-off vouchers and helps visitors discover summer activities in San Antonio through photo galleries, video clips and stories from those who have travelled to the city. Holiday themes include outdoor fun and sports, arts and theatres, safaris and Wild West experiences.

Texas attractions include zoos, aquariums, kid-friendly museums, amusement parks, beaches, state and city parks, fairs, festivals, animal sanctuaries, dinosaur tracks and  more.
