Trekking into Alaska

TrekAmerica is offering a number of tours to Alaska during the summer months to enjoy whale watching, the midnight sun and a chance to see the Northern Lights. Tours range from seven to 28 days.

The seven-day Alaskan Denali tour offers the best chance of finding the midnight sun with the  first departure in the run-up to the summer solstice (June 21) when Alaska enjoys up to 19 hours of daylight.  Alaskan Denali takes a circular route from Anchorage to Denali National Park, the Tangle Lakes and Wrangell-St Elias National Park, offering trekking in the shadow of the continent’s highest peak, glimmering glaciers and raft churning rivers.  Prices are from £549 pp.

The 14-day Alaskan Wonder trip spends three days in Seward so travellers can take a boat trip in search of killer whales. Sea lions, seals, otters and migrating whale species such as humpback and minke whales may also be spotted.  There is also a canoe trip in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and a night at a luxury wilderness camp.
The first available departure of Alaskan Wonder, (June 28 –July 11), now costs £1,102 pp.
TrekAmerica’s final departure in Alaska for this year’s Northern Lights is the seven-day Alaskan Kenai trip, from September 6-12. The Northern Lights may be seen from Anchorage, where the trip starts and ends. Whale-watching is also on the itinerary as well as hiking to Exit Glacier or the Harding Icefields; white water rafting; halibut fishing; or mountain biking. Prices are from £619 pp.

All prices exclude flights.
