Rhythm and Ribs in Kansas

The long-established Rhythm & Ribs Jazz Festival in Kansas City will be held this year on June 19 - 20. The jazz festival was made famous when scores of talented Jazz musicians emerged from the 1930s recession, such as Count Basie, Joe Turner, Hot Lips Page and Charlie Parker.

Musicians and the public alike flocked to Kansas - one place where alcohol prohibition was not enforced - to enjoy the 100 or more nightclubs and bars - exchanging ideas and developing the bluesy improvisation style now known as “Be-Bop”.

Regular ticket price (at the gate) will be $30, but discounts on advanced tickets offer savings of up to 65%.
