Amtrak’s Magnificent Seven
AMTRAK is continuing its programme of refurbishment for long-distance rail services in the US throughout this year.
The following services are all earmarked for product redevelopment: The Empire Service (NY – Albany); The Adirondack (NY – Montreal); The Crescent (NY - New Orleans); The Lincoln Service (Chicago - St. Louis); The Lake Shore Limited (Boston, New York, Chicago); The Empire Builder (Chicago – Seattle); and The Sunset Limited (Orlando – Los Angeles).
The Coast Starlight, which operates between Seattle and Los Angles is one of the most recent Amtrak long-distance trains to be upgraded in the past year. Others trains have included the Empire Builder (Chicago to Seattle and Portland) and City of New Orleans, which operates from Chicago, via Memphis, to the Big Easy.
Amtrak passenger rail covers 21,000 miles serving more than 500 destinations in 46 including 18 iconic routes across the US which provide unparalleled panoramas of America.
