New England adds a taste of ‘Vegas’

THE MGM Grand has opened its doors at Foxwoods Resort & Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

The new hotel offers 825 guest rooms and suites spread over 30 stories, four stylish restaurants, hip retail outlets, a 4,000-seater MGM Grand Theatre and a new super MGM Grand Casino, taking the total number of casinos at Foxwoods to seven.

Designed to “bring the outdoors in”, the glass-fronted MGM Grand offers spectacular views of the beautiful natural surroundings from its guestrooms.

The MGM Grand’s casino includes 1,400 slot machines and 53 table games including blackjack, roulette, craps, Spanish 21 and three-card poker.

Big-name performers such as Sarah Brightman, Gloria Estefan, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper and Rosie O’Donnell will be amongst the first performers to grace the stage at the MGM Grand Theatre.
